Abstract:

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into healthcare, ethical concerns arise regarding its role in decision-making processes. This dissertation investigates the ethical implications of relying on AI for diagnostic and treatment recommendations, focusing on issues like bias, transparency, and patient autonomy.

Research Questions:

  1. To what extent does AI influence clinical decision-making, and how does it affect patient trust?
  2. How can we ensure that AI systems used in healthcare are free from biases and equitable across diverse populations?
  3. What regulatory frameworks are necessary to address ethical challenges posed by AI in medicine?

Methodology:

  • Perform a literature review of current AI applications in healthcare.
  • Conduct semi-structured interviews with healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Develop a framework for ethical guidelines in AI deployment within medical contexts.
