I agree with you that healthcare organizations incorporate evidence-based practice primarily to improve clinical and patient experiences. At the same time, evidence-based practice provides factual information that informs patient-care decisions. It is an approach to medicine that combines the most up-to-date research, clinical expertise, and patient values. Medicine benefits from the factual information obtained from research involved in evidence-based practice. EBP approaches healthcare from a problem-solving perspective (Connery et al., 2020). Factual details can be used to implement change and other problem-solving routines. The goal of EBP is to “improve the quality, effectiveness, and appropriateness of health care (Lehane et al., 2019). Most healthcare organizations desire to improve their healthcare quality and efficiency. As a result, these facilities have implemented EBP. Using credible research informed by a practitioner’s experience and competence of the patient demonstrates how EBP focuses squarely on delivering “the right care at the right time to the right patient. EBP has been deployed in the daily routine of healthcare organizations.
