DNP 820 Explain why the change model you selected for the DPI Project is best for implementing your proposed intervention
I agree with you that health sector has an ever-changing environment. Therefore, healthcare providers are required to be flexible in incorporating changes. Lewin’s Change Management Theory is a common change theory in nursing practice. The theory has three stages; unfreezing, moving, and refreezing. Successful change implementation according to Lewin is achieved after completing the three steps. Unfreezing stage allows stakeholders to understand the importance of change and its urgency (Jami Pour & Hosseinzadeh, 2021). Based on the outcomes of the first stage, moving phase expects proposed change to be initiated. The first stage prepares ground for change. At the refreezing stage, Lewin reveals that healthcare organizations ascertain their success in implementing change. Healthcare organizations have access to different change management theories. Therefore, leaders have the liberty to choose their preferable change management model. Effective communication throughout planning and implementing change is important (Hassan, 2018). Some issues can be intervened when there is reliable communication. Also, change implementation relies on effective organizational leadership.
